Mumbai to Palghar Taxi

There are three different routes to reach Palghar from Mumbai. Irrespective of which route you take, it will take you around 3 to 4 hours of travel time.

The shortest Mumbai-Palghar route is 96 km long and goes via Western Express Highway and NH 48. It will take around 3 hours of time to cover this distance. Another way for Mumbai to Palghar road trip is via NH 48, and takes the same amount of time. It is around 103 km in distance.

There is another route, which is the longest and goes via NH848. It is about 124 km in length and requires around 3 and a half hours of driving.

Kelwa Fort

Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, Kelva Fort is a must visit in Palghar. This fort looks over the Arabian Sea, making itself a popular point for capturing picturesque views too. Its majestic structure is surrounded by lush greenery.

Mahalakshmi Mandir

A prominent religious site to visit during your Palghar tour is the Mahalakshmi temple on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway, Dahanu. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Maha Lakshmi, who is worshipped by the local tribes. It was constructed during the rule of Mukne Dynasty in 1306.

Shirgaon Fort

Although not in its prime state, this fort still showcases a glimpse into the time of Maratha rule. It was built in the 18th century by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to be used for defence purposes and as a watchtower. It is located in the Shirgaon village.

The largest fishing area of Palghar and a famous attraction, Shirgaon Beach is also located nearby.

Ram Temple

As the name suggests, this temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, and is frequented by devotees from all over the state. It has a rich legend behind it. According to it, this temple is the location where Lord Hanuman helped Lord Rama, and brother Lord Lakshmana to free themselves from captivity. Sitladevi Temple is also located nearby.
