Mumbai to Solapur Taxi

All the routes to Solapur from Mumbai have good roads. The shortest Mumbai-Solapur route is about 400 km long and requires about 7 hours and 50 minutes of driving. It goes via Pune – Solapur Road/Solapur – Pune Highway. 

Another route for Solapur from Mumbai goes via NH 965, which is about 430 km in distance. To cover this route, you will need about 8 and a half hours of travel time.

Shri Siddheshwar Temple

Built by Yogi Shri Siddharameshwar, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Mallikarjuna of Srisailam, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Lord Siddeshwar. He also installed 68 shiva lingas in the temple. Along with religious significance, this temple is also known for its architecture, surrounded by water. 

Bhuikot fort

Built in the 14th century, Bhuikot Fort impresses everyone with its vast magnificent structure. A moat surrounding the fort, which used to be filled with water, acted as an additional  defence system. Located close to the Siddheshwar Temple, this fort also houses an animal park and a lush green garden. 

Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary

Established in 1979, this sanctuary in Solapur is a vast area comprising scrublands, grasslands and arid regions. Although built primarily to protect the Great Indian Bustards, here you will be able to spot various other migratory birds and animals like blackbucks, wolves and Indian foxes, as well. You can visit this sanctuary from 7AM to 6.30 PM. 

Solapur Science Center

The third largest science centre of Maharashtra, Solapur science centre is a must visit. This museum was built to create awareness regarding scientific knowledge and skills. It specifically targets to generate interest among kids with a lot of interactive and multimedia displays like 3D theatre shows and the Taramandal show. 

Dharmaveer Sambhaji Lake

Who doesn’t like some quiet moments with nature? Visit Sambhaji Lake for a relaxed picnic with family or a fun filled day with your kids. There is a lush green garden, a children’s play area and a lot of makeshift stalls selling local snacks, beside the lake. You can also go boating in the lake. 

Hipparga Lake, Akkalkot Swami Samarth Maharaj Temple, Siddeshwar Temple, Tilus Agro Tourism, Ujani Dam, Shri Vittala Rukmini Mansdir, are few more places that are worth visiting in Solapur.

A Mumbai to Solapur road trip is best done from October to March. During the winter season, weather in Solapur remains cool, making it perfect for holidaying. In fact December to February is the peak season in Solapur. 

Summers, from March second week to June are hot and thus unsuitable for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Monsoon, with its heavy rainfall, is also not a good time for a road trip to Solapur.
