Mumbai to Alibaug Taxi

The distance between Mumbai and Alibaugh is 95 km which can be covered in 2 and half hours. 

The common Mumbai-Alibaug route is via NH66. The condition of the road in this route is good hence one can travel comfortably. Although the traffic on this route is also not much, it is still advisable to check live traffic updates before starting your trip. 

Another route to reach Alibaug from Mumbai is via NH166A. If you travel via this route, it will take you more time to reach. There are more tolls on this route, and often has more traffic. The condition of the road on this route is also good.

Nerul’s Flamingo Point

Stop at Nerul’s Flamingo Point for spotting flamingos and various other birds, especially after the monsoon. Located in Navi Mumbai, this vast wet-land is also popular for sunset views.  

Kanheri Caves

Located within 4 km from the Mumbai airport, these caves are a must visit. Dating back to 1^st century BCE, Kanheri Caves are a group of Buddhist caves with rock sculptures and carvings. They are located inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. 

Sanjay Gandhi National Park

If you are travelling with kids, then the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is an ideal stop on your Mumbai-Alibaug route. A massive area covered with dense vegetation, this park is known for lions, tigers, and macaques, buffaloes and many other wildlife animals.  

Bandra Worli Sea Link

No road trip from Mumbai is complete without visiting the Bandra Worli Sea link. Connecting Bandra and Worli, over the Arabian Sea, this bridge is an architectural marvel, which is worth spending some time at. 

Belapur Fort

Located in Navi Mumbai, Belapur Fort dates back to the 16th century. Built by Siddis of Janjira, it was later under Portuguese and eventually Marathas reign. This place is a popular trekking site now.  

Karnala Bird Sanctuary

Located in Panvel, just outside Mumbai city, this bird sanctuary is another must stop on Mumbai-Alibaug route. This scenic sanctuary is quite close to Matheran and Karjat. Within its premises you will also find the Karnala Fort, which is now a trekker’s paradise.  

Native Biodiversity Garden

As you cross Pen on the route, you can take a short halt at the national biodiversity garden. This garden overlooks the Teenvira Dam and is blessed with vibrant flora and vast landscapes.  

Sagargad Fort

As you approach Alibaug, on the Alibag-Pen Road, you can visit the Sagargad Fort. This majestic fort stands on a hill and is surrounded by thick forests. On your way to the fort you will find a waterfall and Siddheshwar monastery.  

MIDC Hills

If you want to spend some time in greenery before reaching the beach town of Alibaug, then stop at Rasayani. MIDC Hills is a popular tourist attraction. The views of the surrounding area from here and the view of sunset is sure to leave you entranced.

The most popular beach of the town, it is a black sand beach. Alibaug Beach offers a picturesque view of Kolaba Fort. You will find many adventurous activities and water sports at this beach.

Known for water sports, Varsoli beach is comparatively less crowded. You will find that a lot of boutiques and villas are located here. 

Kanakeshwar Forest

Visit the Kanakeshwar Forest for a heartfelt experience with nature. This dense forest, inhabited by wild animals like wild boars, leopards and also poisonous snakes is unlike other trekking routes. This dense tropical forest also has a temple within its boundary. 

Vrindavan Farms

Located close to Kanakeshwar, this farmland is spread over 28 acres of land. Vrindavan Farms is filled with various kinds of fruit trees including Mango, Guava, Custard apple, etc., presenting a perfect location for photoshoots or even leisure walking. There is also an art and craft museum and a shop, selling spices, honey, bee-wax candles. 

If time permits, you can also visit beaches located near Alibaug, namely Kihim, Awas, Akshi and Nagaon.
