Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar Taxi

You can choose from two routes to reach Mahabaleshwar from Mumbai. The Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar road trip usually takes more or less 6 hours of time, based on the route you select.

The common Mumbai-Mahabaleshwar Route is via NH 66, which takes about 5 hours and 30 minutes. It is around 224 km in distance and covers places like Pen, Kolad and Mahad. On this route, you can stop for exploring locations like Karnala Bird Sanctuary, Raigad Fort and Tamhini Ghat Waterfall.

The other route is via NH 48 and is around 260 km in distance. This route goes through Lonavala, Khopoli, Talegaon Dabhade, Panchagani, Pune and Wai. It is known for its strawberry plantations. Depending on when you are visiting, you can attend its annual Strawberry Festival. You can buy syrup, jams and marmalade for home from here. 

Lord Mahabaleshwar Temple

Built in the 16th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Seek blessings at this ancient temple and admire its exquisite architecture with detailed carvings. It was built by Chanda Rao More dynasty.

The best time for a Mahabaleshwar road trip is during the winter months (November to February), although a lot depends on your preference too. For example, winter with its cold climate is perfect for honeymooners and couples. But if you are looking to get away from hotter months, then plan a trip in summers as the climate here is moderate and the area is covered in greenery.
